Unrequited Love

I told myself that I would never love him. I knew that it would never work between us. I saw all the signs, and I knew that we were never meant to be together.
Yet here I am. Standing in front of you, wishing that I never fallen for you. I wish I didn't love the way your eyes light up when you talk about science. How although the distance is far between us, I would still be willing to drive all those miles to reach you. I wished that I wouldn't get excited whenever I see that you texted me. I wish you didn't treat me so good. That you didn't text me everyday and proceed to talk with me for hours.

You were the first boy who I ever cried for. The first one to make it hurt.
You have yet to do any wrong to me. You're a great friend, not a fuck boy, not here for a body count.
Just wanting a genuine relationship. I want that as well, but with you.
I accepted my fate long before you knew. Maybe one day, I can look back and say I used to love you.
But for now, that secret is safe with me. Although my heart aches for you, I would rather you be happier without me by your side.
I hope that whoever loves you will learn to treasure you like I have. I hope to attend your wedding someday. I hope we can hangout and get a drink.
